Job Description
Summary:
This person researches and designs all aspects of filling machinery from individual components to complete assemblies.
Working on projects in teams and / or individually, the engineer will design custom capital equipment and provide technical assistance in the fabrication, assembly and testing of assemblies and machines from customer order to customer site acceptance.
Essential Functions:
Mechanically design packaging equipment based on customer's specifications and requirements in providing them an automated system integration for filling food products into packaging equipment and production lines.
Analyzes product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine the design method and process.
Provides technical information and guidance concerning manufacturing, materials, and process advantages and limitations.
Applies feedback from company departments to continuously improve designs and engineering workflow.
Utilizes knowledge of design for manufacturing in optimization of components and subsystems Prototype mechanism design and validation, as needed Evaluates engineering data and test results to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications.
Evaluates field installations and recommends design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
Creates Engineering BOMs and assembly drawings.
Promotes teamwork and cooperation between areas of responsibility and other departments.
Creates engineering documentation, including Product Specifications and testing procedures, maintenance intervals and quality control directives Domestic and limited international travel up to 10% of the time which requires a valid passport or the ability to obtain a passport Additional Competencies:

QualificationsBASIC REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess a minimum of an Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automation, or Machine Design Must have a minimum of 5
years of experience in the design of mechanical machinery including reading and interpreting complex drawings of mechanical assemblies and experience with 3D modeling.
PREFERRED
Qualifications:
BSME is preferred.
Experience in the food or packaging industry and/or knowledge of packaging processes, hygienic principals, and related systems is preferred.
SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor experience preferred.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, including ability to communicate effectively to the intended audience.
Excellent MS Office skills, specifically Word, and PowerPoint and Advanced Excel skills The welfare of our employees' matters to us.
