POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for the timely build-up of the various machines and assemblies. Able to read blue prints; Communicate ideas for improving efficiencies and general work area to Assembly and Manufacturing Managers for discussion and possible implementation; Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in supervising the assembly department,
Ensure that work is accurate, timely, and satisfactory.
Motivate and coach the staff. Ensure that they clearly understand their duties and responsibilities.
Review daily task sheets and assure availability of parts and tooling necessary to complete tasks.
Assist in establishing assembly teams.
Assist in machine assembly wherever necessary.
Fill in for other team members as required by service and vacation schedules.
Effectively troubleshoot questions and difficulties that arise in the workplace.
Assist in effectively coordinating the staffing schedules, production schedules, vacation schedules, and time off schedules of the assembly department.
Assist in coordinating with receiving and stockroom to ensure proper sequence of part flow in order to build machinery according to established production schedules.
Communicate shortages and deficiencies to other appropriate department personnel.
Task lists should be reviewed and updated and/or revised as needed.
Effectively orient and provide on the job training in order to ensure the best quality staff member with the lowest possibility of turnover.
Communicate effectively and efficiently with engineering regarding assembly problems or changes due to engineering specifications.
Assure fit-up and compatibility of component parts prior to assembly process.
Assist in tracking downtime and rework time for department. As directed, create appropriate reports to analyze information.
In an efficient manner, communicate with manufacturing regarding difficulties and problems requiring changes in manufacturing procedures.
Ensure that personnel comply with all safety standards. (i.e., safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, etc.)
Ensure that good housekeeping is maintained by all employees.
Address safety issues for department as they occur.
Assist in following up regarding issues to ensure safety standards for department.
Assist in ordering tools as necessary to safely complete a job. Follow up to ensure delivery and appropriate use of said tools.
Assist in accurately and efficiently tracking all work related injuries occurring in department.
Collect completed work orders and deliver them to the proper staff member for closeout.
Assure that drawings and BOM's are properly marked up to reflect changes.
Assure that published technical procedures are being followed and validated.
Take an active part in evaluating employee performance in a fair and consistent manner, by communicating performance information to the Assembly Manager.
As required or requested attend production meetings and other meetings as required and/or request by management. Ensure that appropriate information is gathered and distributed at said meetings.
Participate in morning huddles and staff meetings.
Whether verbally or with the written work, communicate with staff and peers in an efficient, professional and succinct manner.
Assist in operating and maintaining an organized, cost effective department.
Utilize resources in an efficient and effective manner.
Background check and drug screen required.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
